Upon entering the parking lot, turn left, and it is the first building on the right. We are on the 2nd floor. The sign on the door reads Compassion Cove Counseling. Parking is free.

Is the office handicap-accessible?
The office isn’t handicap-accessible, so if you need other accommodations, I also offer counseling by telehealth, which may be a consideration.
What are office hours?
I see clients during the day and early evenings on Monday and Thursday.
Do you offer telehealth appointments?
I see clients via telehealth from early morning to late evenings on Tuesday and Wednesday.
How long is a typical session?
Expect your initial session to last about an hour, but the session could be longer in some circumstances. After your initial visit, your typical session should be approximately 50 minutes, but occasionally, we may go a little over.
What is your contact information?

I would love to chat to see if this could be a good fit. My telephone number is (678) 632-1690. You also can email me at sharon@compassioncovecounseling.com. Let’s get the process started.

How do I schedule an appointment with you?

Before making an appointment, I will do a free 10- to 15-minute phone consultation, at which time we can decide if I am a good fit for your counseling needs. I will collect your email address and cell number when you’re ready to begin. Then, I will invite you to join our client portal. You can complete the electronic forms and submit them via the client portal before our first session.

We can also talk about scheduling your initial appointment at that time. A couple of days before our appointment, you should receive a reminder that will prompt you to confirm or cancel your session with me.

What are payment procedures?
I accept the following forms of payment: Credit, Debit, HSA, Flex Spending, etc. I keep your card number on file and will charge future sessions to your card before your appointment.
Do you accept insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider with insurance companies. Your payment is due at the time of service, and you may seek reimbursement from your insurance company based on the benefits they provide.

Please note that insurance will only pay claims for mental health disorders that impact your functioning, and they may limit the number of sessions they will support.

If you plan to file for out-of-network reimbursement, I will provide a diagnosis (these stay on your medical record), and I will email you a monthly superbill to submit to your insurance company. Note: Insurance may not reimburse for out-of-network providers, so check your insurance company.

What is your cancellation policy?
Things come up unexpectedly. I greatly appreciate your canceling 24 hours before your appointment. The appointment time is reserved especially for you, so I will charge you the full appointment fee if you fail to cancel 24 hours before your appointment.
What should I expect in the first session?

During our first session, we will go over policies and procedures and what you can expect in therapy. I will share a little about myself and ask you the same. We will then talk about what brings you to therapy at this time. We will discuss your goals for therapy and any questions you may have.

Who is your perfect client?
I work with adult men and women, adolescent females ages 15 and over, and couples willing and open to doing the work.
Do you work with people from diverse backgrounds?
I work with clients of various cultures, ethnicities, and religions.
Are you LGBTQIA friendly?
I am LGBTQIA friendly.
How long will I need to be in therapy?
The length of time in therapy depends on you and the issues you would like to address. We will collaborate and decide when it is appropriate for you to terminate. If you decide you’re no longer interested in me as your therapist, I ask that we do a termination session to see how I could have served you better and if I can assist you with finding a new therapist.
Are you a Christian counselor?
I am a counselor who is Christian. I integrate faith in counseling while respecting the beliefs of my clients.
Do couples fight in front of you, and do you take sides?
I need to observe how you deal with conflict as a couple. And the truth is that conflict is likely what brought you to counseling. I am on neither side. My role is to be on both sides because the two of you together are my clients.
Is our work confidential?
What happens in our room stays in the room. The only exception will be if I need to break confidentiality as a mandated reporter.
